SS14 Trend Report: Daytrippin

2April 22, 2014

Nothing says Spring Summer like florals, and what better than the sunflower to brighten up your wardrobe?! Motel’s #Daytrippin collection that will bring out your inner flower-child with it vintage 90′s feel and have you ready for sunshine!

Originating in the hippy flower-power 70’s, and later revived in the 90′s by fashion icon Blossom from the US TV series and given a grungy feel , the sunflower print has been updated for SS14 with irresistible casual loose fit dresses, slip dresses and cami crops.

Florals littered the SS14 catwalks yet again, proving they are here to stay for another season. Christopher Kane showed his love for floral with his sunshine yellow printed coordinates while Simone Rocha used floral printed lace to produce sheer, summery dresses. Dior also embraced bright florals paired with dark sunnies to give an edgy feel.

Here at Motel, we’ve created a brand new iconic sunflower print that comes in printed matchy separates and all-in-ones. If you fancy something a more feminine twist, we created an amazing sheer lace option in a black or white monochrome.

Pair the Fonda Crop with high waist Ibu Denim Shorts and trainers for an ultra cool festival look, or go for the Tiara Babydoll Dress for a laid back summer day vibe.
